CyberEd on-line web page design courses are presented by the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth. The webcraft courses teach the fundamentals of HTML and challenge the participants to produce HTML developed pages [see emirates and serendib]. Beyond HTML is a survey course which introduces students to techniques for adding animation, interactivity and multimedia into web pages. JavaScripter is a practical beginning course for adding java scripts to online pages.
HTML Writers' Guild offers a wealth of online courses, at reasonable prices, relative to web page creation. The course content is very practical and the teachers are most responsive to students' questions.
The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque offers a certificate program in web page design. The courses are held at the department of continuing education site which is on University Avenue, a few miles north of the main campus. The class rooms are well equipped: each web page student has a computer to experiment with and positioned on each desk are additional monitors through which the instructor broadcasts demonstrations of the concepts and skills being taught.
In the University General Requirements Unit, a first year program for incoming students, one component of the math/computer applications program is instruction in simple web page production. The links to the left lead to some of the assignments and student productions related to this objective.
The same program also sponsors a computer club for the students and highlights their work during and 'Open Day' at the end of the spring semester. Links to the left go to the club's sites.
There are many sites on the web that address the concerns of parenting. However, bebebaby will target the unique concerns of those raising a child while belonging to an expatriot community.
